FedEx Thailand Honored as Best Practice Company by Thailand Productivity Institute
BANGKOK, January 30th 2002 - Federal Express Corp. ("FedEx Express"), the world's largest express transportation company, has been honored by the Thailand Productivity Institute for being a 'best practice' company in Thailand, for quality service, information management and productivity.
FedEx Vice President, South Pacific, Mr. Peter Yin, today addressed the Institute's seminar, Best Practices for Business Excellence, before an audience of distinguished business and community leaders, including the Minister of Industry, Mr Suriya Jungrungreangkit.
Mr Yin said it was a great achievement for FedEx to be recognized by the Thailand Productivity Institute as the leading case study for a best-practice company in Thailand.
He said the secret to success was a team of dedicated employees who helped FedEx to become one of the leading express transportation companies in Thailand, and the FedEx policy of innovation and doing whatever it takes to deliver 100 per cent service to customers.
"The honor of being recognized by the Thailand Productivity Institute as a best practice company illustrates our fundamental belief at FedEx that our people are the key in delivering the very best service to our customers," Mr. Yin said.
"This honor, in addition to FedEx being named as the best employer in Thailand last October, is a strong signal to our customers, and to our competitors in Thailand, that FedEx is leading the way with a strong team of people, innovative products and excellent service."
Dr Phanit Laosirirat, Thailand Productivity Institute's Director of Research and Information Technology, explained that FedEx was chosen because of its impressive ability to collect, manage and analyze information. "Its state-of-the-art tracking system enables it to provide the best services to its customers. This is the reason why our committee chose FedEx to receive this distinction. We believe that the Thai business community is learning a great deal from a world class organization like FedEx."
