FedEx Confirms Super-Brand Status for Customer Serv ice in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, May 9, 2002 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest air express transportation company and the Official Air Express Transportation Company of SMIOSS 2002, has been named the 2002 "Superbrand for Business Services", at Malaysia's biggest branding event - The Superbrands Awards, held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
FedEx received the award today following a strict selection process overseen by the Malaysian Superbrands Council.
Accepting the award, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Singam, FedEx Managing Director, Malaysia and Brunei, said being named the Superbrand for Business Services reflected FedEx's recent enhancement of customer services, such as the launch of more convenient drop-off locations at Petronas Mesra stores.
"The mark of a true 'Super Brand' is the company's willingness to go above and beyond, to do whatever it takes to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers, which FedEx strives to do in Malaysia with each and every delivery," said Ramesh.
"New customer service offerings like our more convenient drop-off locations at selected Petronas Mesra stores and our support of SMIOSS 2002, are clear examples of how FedEx in Malaysia is living up to our Superbrands status."
SMIOSS 2002 is the 3rd International Trade Fair for Small and Medium Industries and is scheduled from 13th - 16th June 2002 at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
