FedEx Marks Third Anniversary of Gateway Center Operations
JAKARTA, September 25, 2002 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, and its license partner in Indonesia, PT Repex Perdana Internasional, have marked the third anniversary of their Gateway Center with a visit by members of Junior Achievement International (JAI) to the facility in Cengkareng, Jakarta.
JAI students were taken on a guided tour of the facility that is served by the company's own aircraft. Students received an explanation of how the facility, which was inaugurated in September 1999, is a vital part of FedEx operations in serving Indonesian businesses in their efforts to be more competitive in the international market.
"FedEx is excited to have these outstanding young students visit our facility and see the services that we have to offer," said Clifton Chua, Managing Director Singapore and Indonesia. "We also gave them a run-down on our operations and how, in the pursuit of excellence, we continue to supplement our services, including being the only air express carrier in Indonesia to operate its own aircraft, the Airbus 310, to fly in and out of Jakarta five times a week."
