FedEx garners Best Employer status for the first time in the Philippines
MANILA, May 2, 2003 - FedEx Express (FedEx) has been honoured as one of the best employers in the Philippines.
FedEx was named 10th among a list of distinguished companies in the Philippines at the Best Employers In Asia Awards held recently, organised by Hewitt Associates and Dow Jones. It was the first for FedEx in the Philippines.
The Best Employers in Asia Awards are the result of a nation-wide survey of employees that examined people management practices in many of the region's leading organizations, including FedEx.
John W. Allison, FedEx Vice President for Planning, Engineering and Support, APAC, paid tribute to FedEx employees in the Philippines, and said he was proud and honoured that they recognised FedEx as one of Philippines' best employers.
"At FedEx we believe that our people are the heart and soul of our company, without whom we could not deliver to our customers the outstanding service for which we are renown," Allison said.
"The fundamental FedEx philosophy is to put our employees first and equip them with the working environment that allows them to grow as FedEx employees and individuals."
"By nurturing such a positive and progressive working environment, I know that FedEx employees here in the Philippines are in turn delivering the very best service to our customers," he said.
