FedEx maintains Best Employer status for second consecutive survey
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 May, 2003: FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company has been honoured as one of Malaysia's top-four best employers.
FedEx has been named 4th among a list of distinguished companies in Malaysia at the Best Employers In Malaysia Awards, organised by Hewitt Associates. It is the second consecutive top-ten honor for FedEx at the awards, having been named 5th in the previous survey held in 2001.
The Best Employers In Malaysia Awards are the result of an nation-wide survey of employees that examined people management practices in many of the nation's leading organizations, including FedEx.
Mr Ramesh Kumar Singam, Managing Director, FedEx Malaysia and Brunei, paid tribute to his staff of 450, and said he was proud and honoured that they recognised FedEx as one of Malaysia's best employers.
"At FedEx we believe that our people are the heart and soul of our company, without whom we could not deliver to our customers the outstanding service for which we are renown," Ramesh said.
"The fundamental FedEx philosophy is to put our employees first and equip them with the working environment that allows them to grow as FedEx employees and individuals."
"By nurturing such a positive and progressive working environment, I know that FedEx employees here in Malaysia are in turn delivering the very best service to our customers," he said.
