FedEx Customers Rewarded in 'Refer A Friend' Promotion
Kuala Lumpur, April 30, 2004 -- "The only way to have a friend is to be one", said the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. And FedEx Express (FedEx) showed today that friendship certainly has its rewards when the world's largest air express company handed out the Grand Prize of the FedEx 'Refer A Friend' promotion to a jubilant Ms Lau Moy Fong of MOHM Chemical, Johor Bahru.
Ms Lou was all smiles when she was presented with a Swatch watch worth RM500 by FedEx Managing Director for Malaysia and Brunei Ms Lily Tay, but little did she know that she was in for a bigger surprise. It turned out that she was also the winner of the Lucky Draw Grand Prize - a travel voucher for two to Pulau Pangkor worth RM1,000.
When asked about her immediate reaction upon hearing the good news, Ms Lau said that she felt very lucky and extremely happy. When asked who will be the lucky ones accompanying her to Pangkor, the young Accounts Executive replied that it will most likely be her family.
According to Ms Lily Tay, the FedEx 'Refer A Friend' promotion was a big success. "It just goes to show the benefits of keeping in touch with friends and the rewards of simple networking. The FedEx 'Refer A Friend' promotion is one of the fun and creative ways to introduce ourselves to new customers while still keeping in touch with our existing customer base."
Ms Lau's list of references for the FedEx 'Refer A Friend' promotion included mainly customers and suppliers she regularly contacts. She said that her company made the decision to keep using FedEx for all overseas bound documents and parcels because of the reasonable rates and the efficient service provided. "We usually ship documents and parcels to U.A.E. and a number of countries in Asia. So far, we have been very satisfied with the services provided by FedEx"
Launched on 1st January 2004, the promotion was open to all FedEx customers who were required to name their referrals in an official entry form provided by FedEx and send in their entries via fax or e-mail before the closing date on 29th February 2004.
To qualify, the referrals had to be non-existing FedEx customers. A dedicated FedEx team then undertook qualification assessments on a daily basis, and customers were notified about the number of qualified entries from their list of referrals.
In addition, all customers automatically qualified for the FedEx 'Refer A Friend?draw where the travel voucher for two to Pangkor was up for grabs.
